Retail sales assistant

The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is looking for a part-time, permanent Retail Sales Assistant to work at Shakespeares Birthplace Shop and Bookshop on Henley Street and Anne Hathaways Cottage in Shottery, both within Stratford-upon-Avon.

You will work an average of 24.5 hours per week, working 28 hours in week 1 and 21 hours in week 2, and your working pattern will include alternate weekends and a fair share of Bank Holidays.

We are looking for an enthusiastic retail team member to help make a visit to our Shakespeares Family Homes a memorable one. If you enjoy selling and would like to meet thousands of different people from all over the world united by their love of Shakespeares life, work, and legacy then we may have just the job for you.

Day-to-day tasks will involve advising and serving customers, dealing with retail deliveries, cleaning and merchandising of displays, adding value to customers purchases and experiences, and advising prospective visitors of the Trusts offer.

Previous retail experience is preferential. Excellent customer service, an enquiring mind and an outgoing personality are essential.
