Salary: Circa £40,000 DOE
Hours: 08:00 – 16:30 (flexible start/finish available)

The role is primarily based in Warrington, with occasional travel to a secondary site to support projects and production activity.
The Role
This is a hands-on, varied design role where you’ll take responsibility for projects from initial concept through to manufacture, testing, and continuous improvement.
You’ll be involved in:

New product development and redesign
*
Jig, fixture, and assembly design
*
Factory expansion and production improvements
*
R&D activity and on-site product testing
*
Close collaboration with production, fabrication, and technical teams
Key Responsibilities
*
Lead and support new product development and redesign projects
*
Produce 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
*
Design jigs, fixtures, and assembly processes
*
Take ownership of project delivery and timelines
*
Support R&D and on-site testing
*
Create BOMs, part codes, and technical documentation
*
Develop flat patterns for manufacture
*
Carry out CAM programming
*
Support marketing materials and product training
*
Handle technical enquiries and customer specials
*
Work closely with production and fabrication teams to ensure DFM
*
Troubleshoot design and manufacturing issues
*
Support continuous improvement and product performance
Requirements & Skills
*
Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
*
Minimum 18 months’ experience in a design role within a manufacturing environment
*
SolidWorks experience is essential
*
Sheet metal and fabrication experience is essential
*
Experience creating BOMs (SAGE knowledge beneficial)
*
Understanding of ISO 9001 / QMS
*
CAM / RADAN experience advantageous
*
Knowledge of press brakes and turret punch presses advantageous
*
Strong communication skills
*
Independent, proactive, and hands-on approach
*
Willing to travel to the West Midlands on an ad-hoc basis
