Overview
Learning Support Assistant - North Notts College (20 hours per week). Part time (20 hours per week for 37 weeks worked – Term time plus 1 training week). Duration: Permanent. Salary: £23,971 FTE (Pro-rata £10,914.03) per annum. Location: North Notts College, Worksop.
The Role
We are looking for Learning Support Assistants to work within our busy Additional Learning Support Team. In this role, you will provide in and out of class support to assist students with learning difficulties/disabilities to help them achieve their best possible outcomes. This may include supporting with personal care and/or literacy and numeracy. You will be a key part of the Student Support team, and will assist in the planning, preparation & reviewing of learning in conjunction with relevant curriculum staff, providing feedback and carrying out reviews as appropriate to ensure students are making expected progress and working towards outcomes. You will have the personal skills to effectively support students, dealing with challenging behaviour when it arises, and helping them to develop their own coping strategies.
Responsibilities
* Support students in classroom and/or additional settings in line with learning goals and review progress with curriculum staff and the LSA Manager.
Requirements
* Experience supporting students in an educational setting and knowledge of SEND, ALS and EHCPs.
* Hold or be working towards Maths and English L2/C grade; willingness to work towards an adult learner support or equivalent qualification.
* Be prepared to undertake a DBS check and other safeguarding checks in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education Guidance. Must have the legal right to work in the UK.
