Our client is a fast-growing multi sector speciality distributor of chemicals and raw materials to the UK Manufacturing Industry.They are now seeking a Warehouse Lead. This position is site based in Redditch, Worcestershire and is a full-time permanent role working on a shift basis (Monday to Friday (8 hours a day between the hours of 6am to 10pm)) reporting to the Manufacturing Manager.Job PurposeResponsible for the quality and productivity of warehousing processes within the company. Sets the example of what good looks like and identifies opportunities to improve health and safety and productivity.
Documents SOPs. Provides training for colleagues.Manages the day-to-day operation of the clients warehouse with respect to goods in/out and health & safety requirements, and oversees the re-labelling, and repacking processes. Provides oversight for the clients other two other sites.Work with the BSC Manager to ensure logistical warehouse support for our client both internally and externally is met.Support the Manufacturing Manager to develop the capability for simple chemical processing and laboratory formulation activities.Will step into process roles as needed from time to time.Key ResponsibilitiesReceiving GoodsReceive, check and log purchase orders onto the systemBook in goods received and enter all stock on the system (chemicals and packaging)Match delivery notes, COAs and MSDS from goods received to the correct purchase ordersReceive, check and process sales orders ensuring correct COA, MSDS and work instructionsIssuing log number to each order for traceability and logging orders onto the systemManaging Warehouse and Stock MovementsChecking finished orders are correct including quantity, transport requirements and address labelsProduce monthly chemical and packaging stock checksRequesting additional packaging when neededTaking photos, scanning documents and emailingFacilitating stock auditsProducing BRC work InstructionsOccasional requirement to work on process operations as needed by the business.Re-ordering consumablesFacilitating stock takesLiaising with QA and H&S to maintain standards of Quality Management processes; health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment, for example, ensuring that chemical stock is stored and handled safelyRepacking / Re-labelling GoodsTo provide additional support to warehouse operatives when necessaryGoods DispatchArrange transport arrangement including deliveries and collectionsLiaising with hauliers to arrange collections, deliveries and chase PODsDealing with sales order queriesHealth and SafetyUnderstands the correct PPE for each activitEnsuring correct handlingChecking MSDS for hazardous information to relay to appropriate staffProducing DGN where necessarySafe unloading of raw materialsSafe mapping of all chemicalsApplying segregation rules for the storage of chemicalsIdentifying locations of all chemicalsChecking receipt of chemicals against purchase orderWarehouse cleanlinessCapability to manage chemical spillsTrainingReview training requirements for all Warehouse functions throughout the organisation and ensure they remain compliant.Qualifications and ExperienceWarehouse / Logistics experience to BRC, FSSC or GTDP standardClear written and oral communication skillsAttention to detail, particularly with respect to weights and measuresAbility to follow instructionsSignificant knowledge of Microsoft Word and ExcelProfessional telephone mannerExperience within a customer service environmentDesirable:A Forklift Truck qualification and valid licenseKnowledge of handling chemicals, as would a qualification in labelling and packing in accordance with IATA and ADR Regulations, although training will be providedCOSHHIn return, our client is offering a basic salary of £30,000 per annum plus benefits (salary is negotiable and dependent on experience).To apply for the above position, please send your C.V to Louise Roughley, Director at Atom Scientific Recruitment Ltd.TPBN1_UKTJ
