English Teacher
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary English Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in the Bury area. This role is ideal for both experienced teachers and confident ECTs looking to develop their career within a well-established and forward-thinking school environment.
Position Details
Location: Bury
Role: Secondary English Teacher
Key Stages: KS3 & KS4
Start Date: January 2026 (earlier start available)
Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary or Temp-to-Perm
Working Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm
Pay: £ – £ per day (Paid to Scale – PTS)
Role Responsibilities
1. Deliver engaging and high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4
2. Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum
3. Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
4. Support students of varying abilities, including those with additional learning needs
5. Work collaboratively with the English department and wider school staff
6. Contribute to departmental planning, enrichment activities, and wider school life
Experience, Training & Qualifications
7. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
8. Experience teaching English in a UK secondary school (ECTs encouraged to apply)
9. Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for English
10. Up-to-date safeguarding training (or willingness to complete this)
Requirements
11. Right to Work in the UK
12. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
13. Two professional references covering the last two years
