You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
* Creating innovative new recipes and food concepts from brief to launch, ensuring consistency and commercial viability.
* Working closely with procurement teams to source the best ingredients while maintaining cost efficiency.
* Collaborating with chefs and internal teams to refine and evolve dishes in line with customer expectations and market trends.
* Conducting trials and tastings to ensure quality, scalability, and adherence to operational capabilities.
* Supporting the rollout of new and existing products, reviewing and improving recipes, methods, and processes.
* Maintaining accurate records of recipes, costings, and process documentation.
* Conducting benchmarking and shelf-life testing in collaboration with the technical team.
* Monitoring food and market trends to ensure menus remain relevant, exciting, and competitive.
* Maintaining excellent kitchen standards, managing ingredient stock, and overseeing day-to-day NPD kitchen operations.
* Presenting concepts and final dishes confidently to customers and internal stakeholders.
What’s required?
* Proven experience as a Development Chef or in a similar food innovation role within food manufacturing or hospitality.
* Strong culinary background with a passion for food innovation and flavour development.
* Excellent knowledge of global cuisines, ingredients, and production methods.
* Awareness of current and emerging food trends.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Strong organisational ability and high attention to detail.
* A collaborative, positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
* Flexibility, creativity, and problem-solving capability in a fast-moving environment.
