Job Title: Senior Care Assistant - Days
Salary: £15.84ph* (from 01.04.2026 - £16ph)
Hours: Full Time Permanent Contract (7am-7pm, 3-4 days a week, to include alternate weekends)
Location: Nightingale Nursing & Care Home, Edwinstowe, NG21 9PA

About Nightingale Nursing & Care Home
Nightingale Nursing & Care Home is based in the centre of Edwinstowe, near Mansfield. The home provides personal, nursing and dementia care to 49 residents in a homely setting with garden areas, aligned with Jasmine's values.
Role Responsibilities - Senior Care Assistant
* Provide the highest possible levels of care, supporting residents in all aspects of daily living.
* Promote residents’ independence with a focus on choice, dignity and respect; support physical and emotional wellbeing; contribute during shift handovers.
* Lead your shift to maintain high standards and support other team members.
* Complete daily medication rounds and document accurately; ensure daily charts are completed to a high standard; lead the team on shifts.
* Promote best practices in care and challenge poor practice; ensure one-to-ones for all care and support team members every two months; investigate complaints as directed by the Home Manager.
Role Requirements
* Relevant professional qualification (e.g., Registered Nurse or NVQ/Diploma minimum Level 3 in Health and Social Care).
* Minimum of two years' experience as a Care Assistant in a residential/nursing home setting.
* Awareness of person-centred care planning principles.
* Understanding of safeguarding and procedures in the event of abuse.
* Reside within 30 minutes of the Home.
* Ability to work under pressure; leadership and people skills; caring and nurturing attitude; positive and enthusiastic outlook; time management and strong written and verbal communication skills.
