Job Overview
We are looking for someone who has a core profession such as Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist, who is registered with NMC, and ideally with knowledge and some experience within a CYPMH setting or experience in working within Mental Health. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, self-motivating, have the ability to case manage and will display excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to establish good working relationships essential to the success of the service.
This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CYPMH). As part of the team you will take a leadership role in the delivery of high quality service provision that promotes and improves the mental health and well-being of children and young people, their families and carers. Working within a systemic and holistic framework you will undertake needs led, evidence based, highly skilled assessments and therapeutic interventions to children and young people, their families and carers, who present to the service. These assessments will also include young people needing support due to deliberate self-harm.
The CYPMH services within LCFT are undergoing a transformation programme to implement the THRIVE model as a response to the Five Year Forward View. To meet this forward thinking view we are specifically looking for practitioners with a modern mind-set and an enthusiasm for the new model.

The post holder will utilise CYMPH core skills to undertake comprehensive mental health assessments, formulations and risk assessments, as well as co-producing achievable goals alongside children/young people and their families. Evidence based therapeutic interventions will be utilised to support children and families experiencing difficulties relating to complex mental health. This is envisaged to sit within the Getting More Help domain of the THRIVE Model.
They will work with the MDT to develop the formulation of the child/young person and familys needs and support the development of a care plan based upon the child/young person and familys negotiated goals and relevant evidence based interventions. This will be under clinical supervision from a more senior clinical psychology practitioner.
As part of an integrated CYMPH service, promote robust community partnership working arrangements alongside other key stakeholders in order to deliver integrated care.
Actively contribute to the implementation of the safeguarding agenda within the service, in partnership with the Trust safeguarding team.
