Description
Marine & Helicopter Coordination is a key support function within the Offshore Operations & Logistics department of Construction, enabling safe operations offshore, safe transit, and access to the Offshore Wind Farm (OWF), assets within the OWF, and emergency response during construction.
The role includes day and night shifts, as well as weekend work. There is scope for
additional ad-hoc shifts during the main contract period and ad-hoc work prior to and
following the main contract period.
Key Tasks
• Emergency Response Coordination: Act as the frontline person responsible for coordinating responses and liaising with relevant parties, such as project staff and/or external agencies.
• Vessel/Helicopter Traffic Control: Manage according to agreed coordination protocols, procedures, and processes.
• People, Vessel, and Communications Tracking: Monitor and manage whereabouts and communications.
• WTG Access Restrictions: Manage access restrictions for Wind Turbine Generators.
• Vessel Allocation Optimization: Ensure all vessel allocations and unforeseen changes to the daily plan/schedule optimize the efficient use of available vessels.
• Offshore Management System Operation: Ensure all offshore personnel have the correct certification and all assets are maintained to the latest status.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise with local stakeholders as required.
• Weather Forecasting and Observation: Provide weather forecasting and observation system data, interpret data, and provide advice and recommendations to project teams and vessel masters.
• Weather Data Management: Manage relationships with weather data and observation system providers, resolving issues with data or sources.
• Additional Liaison: Engage with local stakeholders as needed.
Requirements
• Local applicants preferred, within approximately 2 hours of the work location.
• Over 2 years of experience in Marine Coordination.
• Competent in the use of Supplier Database for Offshore Operations.
• Proficient with Radio Communications.
• Computer literate.
• Familiarity with Maritime Certification.
• Capable of working as part of a team, proactive, able to work under pressure, and engages well with the organization.
• Experienced in offshore Emergency Response.
• Personnel Tracking: Monitor the whereabouts of people working on asset projects offshore at all times.
• Marine Traffic Control: Manage access to the OWF according to custody, timing, and work scope.
• Airspace Coordination: Ensure safe flight operations to, on, and from the OWF.
• Monitoring: Oversee weather and marine operations on the OWF.
• Emergency Response Planning: Contribute to emergency response planning and execution.
• Surveillance & Vessel Avoidance: Monitor and manage vessel avoidance.
• Liaison & Advisory: Support documentation, HSE, marine inspections, and helicopter operators.
• Statutory Reporting: Handle reporting for pollution, lighting, drifting buoys, and
vessel infringements.
• Work Schedule: 12 hours per day, 1 week on/1 week off.
• Flexibility: Rotations may be extended up to 14-21 days to cover vacation or sickness.
• Shift Pattern: Exact shift pattern and shifts to be confirmed at interview.
Possibility of extension dependent on workload requirements.
• Option to Extend: 3 months
