Teaching Assistant
Location: Berkeley, Gloucestershire
Annual Salary: £22,102.72 - £24,103.93 (actual salary, dependent on experience and qualifications)
Plus: £1000 Welcome bonus*
Hours: 40 hours per week - Term time only
Teaching Personnel has a great opportunity to work with a fantastic SEN School based in Berkeley. The school caters to pupils aged 11-16 with SEMH needs, creating an environment where young people can achieve their goals and thrive in a future of their own choosing.
Key duties:
1. Establish a warm, caring, and supportive relationship with pupils to help them feel safe and enjoy learning.
2. Promote independence and personal development, maintaining high expectations of behaviour.
3. Support high-quality, challenging, and differentiated educational activities to help pupils reach their full potential.
4. Assist the Class Teacher with the daily running of the class.
5. Adapt to the school's changing needs to ensure smooth operations.
6. Support pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical, and spiritual development.
7. Work collaboratively within a multi-professional team.
8. Ensure all necessary documentation is completed accurately under the guidance of a senior TA or teacher.
Successful candidate qualities:
1. While previous experience isn’t essential, the ability and desire to build trusting relationships with young people is important.
2. GCSE (or equivalent) passes in Maths and English (Essential).
3. Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
4. Commitment to the role, with a child-first attitude and respect for individual needs.

Pay rates include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with potential for permanence later.
