Job Description
Frontline Recruitment Derby Limited has a new vacancy for a Production Supervisor to be a key member of our client's small but fast-growing business located on the outskirts of Derby. Working on short production runs of items ranging from small electronic components to large complex cable cutters, the Production Supervisor manages production operators and will follow process instructions, health and safety guidance, and exacting quality standards to build high-quality products within tight deadlines, supplying products worldwide.
Responsibilities
The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the production processes deliver quality products in a timely manner. Managing all day-to-day manufacturing activities, providing direct supervision and leadership to the team, allocating work, and communicating issues, progress, and achievements.
Anticipate, analyze, and diagnose production problems to coordinate corrective actions. Continuously assess and improve processes, efficiency, utilization, and productivity. Maintain compliance with all regulations including Health & Safety and company rules and procedures. Reporting to: Operations Manager.
Main Job Tasks
* Manufacture and assemble the entire range of products.
* Ensure production processes align with company and regulatory requirements.
* Accurately complete all necessary documentation for regulatory compliance.
* Inform the production team of occupational health and safety practices.
* Communicate expectations to team members and evaluate their performance.
* Implement relevant emergency response procedures during emergencies.
* Regularly check machinery and checkpoints to ensure safe and efficient workflow.
* Compile reports about production and provide management updates.
* Manage repair or replacement of faulty equipment.
* Ensure resources and assets are used efficiently and correctly.
Education and Experience
* Previous leadership/supervisory experience in manufacturing – essential.
* Analytical skills and ability to suggest and drive performance improvements – essential.
* Excellent communication skills – written and verbal – essential.
Key Competencies
* Ability to learn detailed technical information and interpret complex requirements – desirable.
* Self-motivated – essential.
* Proficient in managing production operators – essential.
* Outstanding communication skills – essential.
* Competent IT skills – essential.
* Must have own car and full UK driving license – essential.
Working Hours: Days, Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week.
Salary: Circa £30k (subject to negotiation).
