Job Description Salary: £31,537 - £33,699 per annum Hours per week: 37 hours Interview date: Wednesday 24 June 2026 We are looking for an enthusiastic, adaptable, and organised person to join our Intensive Travel Training team, part of the wider Community Connecting team, the focus is on bespoke, sustainable travel training to and from a young person's place of education, completed in real time. This will involve working with young people with disabilities, parents and support networks, liaising with schools, colleges, Wiltshire Council's passenger transport team, SEND transport team and other professionals to ensure seamless support is provided. Community Connecting is part of Employment and Community Skills (ECS) within the wider SEND service. The team supports children, young people, and adults with learning disabilities or autism to access and maintain community opportunities such as leisure, travel, social activities, volunteering, and pre-vocational training, in line with their individual plans, while also supporting their carers We also work with local specialist schools, facilitating The Get Connected Project which supports road awareness and safety. Responsibilities Working as a Community Coordinator, the role is an active one, walking, using public transport and navigating challenging routes so the successful candidate will be pro-active and positive in nature and have experience working with a wide range of people. Good communication is key. You will have experience of supporting and working with young people who have additional needs. We work in a flexible way and are interchangeable with our Community Connecting team, you will be required to work before and after school/college hours as travel training will be conducted in real time. Be involved with identified schools, identifying young people who are ready to start their travel training as well as developing ITT for future cohorts. Working in line with the SEND Transport Policy and new guidance around travel provision Qualifications Have up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance in relation to working with, and the safeguarding of Children, young people and vulnerable adults HNC / QCF 4 or equivalent skills and working towards a professional qualification or the ability to demonstrate equivalent experience and skills
