Qualifications and Experience (Essential Criteria)
* Hold a teaching qualification recognized to teach in grant-aided schools in Northern Ireland.
* Hold a degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification prepared to teach Science as the main subject.
* Demonstrable experience of teaching Science at Key Stage 4 with positive learning outcomes.
* Demonstrable experience of using a range of teaching strategies to meet learning needs.
* Demonstrable experience of using digital media/technology to enhance teaching and learning.
* Be registered with the General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland (GTCNI) before taking up post.
Qualifications and Experience (Additional Essential Criteria)
* Knowledge of Northern Ireland Curriculum.
* Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection policy/practice.
* Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
* Knowledge of a range of teaching strategies to meet learning needs.
* Knowledge of Information Technology systems and digital classroom tools.
* Knowledge of current assessment methods to inform teaching.
* Effective teaching and classroom management skills; ability to provide a supportive, inclusive learning environment.
* Ability to work collaboratively with pupils, colleagues, parents and the wider community.
* Ability to work as an effective team member and to motivate self and others.
* Demonstrated alignment with the School’s Values/ethos.
Desirable Criteria
* Demonstrable experience of teaching OCN subjects to achieve positive learning outcomes.
* Experience using a range of approaches to support children and young people of all abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs.
