Role Summary
Band 7 Occupational Therapist – Adult Community at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust. The role involves working with vulnerable adults in the community to provide expert assessment and advice, arranging service provision, and contributing to the day-to-day running and improvement of the service. The candidate will offer line management and supervision to occupational therapists and occupational therapy technicians, and have experience with adult social care, major adaptations, complex manual handling, and teaching.
Responsibilities
* Assess functional needs of adults in their home environment and implement an occupational therapy plan to optimise function and quality of life.
* Ensure that assessment and intervention are culturally sensitive.
* Contribute to overall operation and improvement of the service.
* Support team development in specific areas such as intake and duty, complex manual handling, and major adaptations.
* Supervise and mentor occupational therapists and occupational therapy technicians.
* Assess and support clients through the major adaptation process, liaising with housing, surveyors, council and relevant agencies.
Essential Qualifications
* Significant experience and knowledge of adult social care.
* Experience of clinical supervision, appraisals, and staff management.
* Experience in leadership, management, and audits.
* Experience in presenting and teaching.
* Advanced knowledge of assessment and treatment, including complex manual handling and equipment.
* Evidence of partnership working.
* Flexible approach and ability to work under pressure.
* Knowledge of safe moving and handling techniques.
* HCPC registration.
Desirable Qualifications
* Student or OT technician supervision experience.
* Up-to-date knowledge of equipment and technology.
* Experience managing complex adaptations.
* Car driver or owner.
* Knowledge of the Care Act.
Location & Remuneration
Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA, United Kingdom. Permanent contract, full‑time, Band 7. Salary £55,524 to £62,652 per annum (inclusive of HCAS). Working pattern: full time.
