Salary Range – £31,586 (2026/7 pay award pending)
2 Year Fixed Term Contract

Location: Richmond and Wandsworth Council Offices
Overview
We are looking for a diverse group of highly talented and motivated graduates to join our Graduate Development Programme as Project Officers. The role involves working across both councils, supporting high‑profile programmes such as Climate Change, Cost of Living initiatives, Adult Social Care, Public Health, Children’s Services, Housing, IT and Digital Transformation, and organisational change through our Transformation Programme.

We welcome graduates from all backgrounds, degree subjects and universities.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
* Minimum of a 2:2 undergraduate degree by July 2026 (or to be achieved by then).
* Right to work in the UK – we cannot sponsor visas.
* Within two years of graduating from your first degree.
* A minimum of 5 GCSEs grades A‑C (or 4‑9), including Maths and English, or equivalent.
* Ordinarily resident in the UK for the last three years (to meet training funding requirements).
About the Role
The Graduate Project Officer will support the development, implementation and monitoring of council policies and procedures. Responsibilities include:
* Assisting in the formulation, planning and monitoring of policies and procedures.
* Supporting the implementation of council decisions and circulating reports accordingly.
* Coordinating, scheduling, and providing support for meetings (preparing agendas, sending invitations, booking venues or virtual links, taking minutes, and ensuring necessary materials and technology are available).
* Researching, preparing and writing reports and briefing papers for managers and elected members.
* Working collaboratively with council departments and external partners, including the private and voluntary sector.
Professional Development
Throughout the programme you will have a placement manager and a supervisor to support your development. Opportunities to shadow senior managers, attend meetings with elected members and participate in events will also be available. You will undertake a work‑related qualification to enhance your planning, communication, organisational and management skills.
