HSE Manager
Location: Ryde, Isle of Wight
Salary: £50,000 - £56,000 per annum
Contract: 3-Month Contract (Potential Extension)
Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:30am-5:00pm Friday 8:30am-1:00pm
Pertemps Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced HSE Manager to join a busy manufacturing site based in Ryde.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands‑on Health, Safety & Environmental professional looking for an immediate contract role, with the possibility of extension beyond the initial 3 months.
The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, you will take full responsibility for Health, Safety and Environmental activities across the site, ensuring compliance, promoting a strong safety culture, and driving continuous improvement.
* Managing and maintaining HSE systems and procedures
* Ensuring compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
* Leading accident, incident and near‑miss investigations
* Carrying out risk assessments and supporting audits
* Promoting safe working practices across the business
* Supporting environmental compliance, waste control and energy management
* Producing HSE reports and KPI data
* Acting as the main contact for external HSE bodies and inspections
* Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site
About You
The ideal candidate will have previous HSE experience within a manufacturing environment and be confident working in a standalone role.
* NEBOSH Certificate qualification minimum
* Manufacturing or industrial experience
* Good understanding of UK HSE legislation
* Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* The ability to influence and engage employees at all levels
* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Environmental qualifications or further NEBOSH study would be beneficial but not essential.
