Purpose‑built for people living with dementia, complex care needs, and those under mental health registration, Loughside offers a vibrant, village‑style community centred on dignity, independence, and wellbeing. Its thoughtful design encourages privacy, stimulation, and meaningful social connection for residents, families, and staff alike.

Loughside will be home to over 200 dedicated professionals delivering personalised care tailored to each individual. Commissioned in partnership with the Northern Health Trust and developed to meet the highest RQIA standards, it represents a bold step forward in transforming care in Northern Ireland.


The Role

The Senior Care Assistant role in our Nursing Homes is part of a dedicated team essential to the daily operations of the Home. Senior Care Assistants provide high quality care and support to our residents in a warm and safe environment, working with Registered Nurses and Care Assistants to deliver personalised care that meets individual needs and preferences. Senior Care Assistants also provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering meaningful relationships and advocating for their rights and preferences.

About The Role


Main Responsibilities

* Providing practical support and responsive care to residents who require assistance with intimate personal needs such as dressing, bathing and toileting activities, ensuring compliance with procedures and relevant healthcare legislation.
* Observing and monitoring the wellbeing of residents, promptly referring any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences to senior staff or the primary nurse and documenting as appropriate.
* Monitoring and allocating work for care assistants.
* Developing and maintaining good professional relationships with residents, colleagues and visitors, responding promptly and courteously to requests and enquiries.
* Responsible for the administration of medicines.

Required Criteria

* Medication experience within a care setting
* Right to Work in the UK
* Educated to a minimum GCSE/NVQ 3 or above (or similar qualification) with a good standard of English
* Previous care experience


Desired Criteria

* Previous experience in a care home setting
* Experience supervising staff
