Marcon Construction is a forward-thinking main contractor specialising in healthcare, public sector, and commercial projects, with a strong reputation for quality, safety, and reliability. With offices in Dunstable, Colchester, and Croydon, we are continuing to expand and are now seeking a proactive and experienced HSQE Manager to strengthen our team and drive the highest standards across Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental management.
HSQE Manager - The Role
Based from one of our regional offices (Dunstable, Colchester, or Croydon), you will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and improving our HSQE policies and procedures across a diverse portfolio of projects. You will work closely with senior leadership, project teams, and our supply chain to ensure full compliance with legislation, industry standards, and company requirements. Regular site visits across the region will be required.
HSQE Manager - Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain HSQE policies, procedures, and management systems.

Conduct site audits, inspections, and risk assessments, providing clear feedback and improvement actions.

Lead accident, incident, and near-miss investigations, producing detailed reports and recommendations.
*
Provide HSQE training, advice, and guidance to employees and subcontractors.
*
Drive a positive safety culture across all levels of the business.
*
Ensure compliance with ISO standards and support external audits.
*
Monitor legislation changes and update company practices accordingly.
The Candidate
We are looking for a confident, hands-on professional with a strong background in construction.
Essential Skills & Experience:

NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).
*
Membership of IOSH (GradIOSH or higher preferred).
*
Strong knowledge of UK construction H&S regulations, CDM 2015, and ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001).
*
Proven experience in a similar role within a main contractor or construction environment.
*
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
*
A proactive, solutions-driven approach with strong attention to detail.
*
Full UK Driving Licence (regular site travel required).
