Overview
Reaside Forensic Medium Secure Inpatient Team has a vacancy for a full-time Medical Secretary post, covering maternity leave for a fixed term of 12 months. The role provides comprehensive, reliable, confidential secretarial and admin service to support the Consultant Psychiatrist and clinical team. The team includes a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist, Specialist Registrar, Senior House Officer, Occupational Therapist, Senior Nurse, Community Psychiatric Nurse, Social Worker, and Pharmacist.
Requirements
* Good general level of education and formal secretarial qualifications.
* Experience in a medical secretary role is essential.
* Essential qualifications as outlined in the attached personal specification.
* Good level of audio typing and medical terminology.
* Knowledge of the Trust systems is desirable.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team.
Responsibilities
* Maintain a rolling programme of CPA Case Conferences.
* Handle correspondence from the Ministry of Justice according to working practice.
* Oversee Ministry of Justice applications for leave.
* Ensure that Section 17 leave forms are signed and returned.
* Coordinate dates for Tribunal hearings and distribute reports.
* Manage the Consultant Psychiatrist’s diary.
* Responsibility for all room bookings and ensuring visitors to meetings are received; arrange refreshments.
