Oaklands Primary School is seeking a dedicated and skilled Internal Alternative Provision (IAP) Lead to work with a small group of pupils from across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 who are on the pathway to specialist provision. This is a unique opportunity to lead and develop a vital provision, supported by the SENCo and Pastoral Lead, within a caring and forward-thinking school. Key Responsibilities • Plan and deliver tailored support programmes for all learners within the IAP class, responding to individual needs. • Complete assessments to inform planning and measure pupil progress. • Lead and coordinate the Teaching Assistant (TA) team to ensure a consistent, high-quality approach to support. • Build strong, positive relationships with parents and carers, fostering effective communication and collaboration. • Liaise with external professionals. • Work collaboratively with class teachers to ensure a coordinated approach to each child’s education and wellbeing. Desirable Qualities and Experience • Experience working with children with high levels of SEND, ideally within an educational setting. • Commitment to inclusive education and supporting pupils with complex needs. • Ability to coordinate support staff. • A therapeutic approach to behaviour management aligned with Oaklands’ ethos. • Excellent communication skills, especially in building relationships with parents/carers and external professionals. • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. • Collaborative mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving. • Passion for providing a holistic child centred approach to learning. Salary • Salary: H5 - fixed term 1 year with the potential for the role to become permanent. Would consider part time for the right candidate.
