Our client is seeking a Payroll Team Leader to oversee the daily administration of the payroll system, ensuring statutory, legal, and contractual compliance, and that payments are processed accurately and timely each month.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supervising the Payroll Team to ensure accurate payments, timely payslip production, and statutory reporting.
* Serving as an escalation point for internal queries.
* Managing workload distribution among Payroll & Pensions Officers, including coverage during leave and peak periods.
* Administering multiple pension schemes and ensuring timely reporting and queries resolution.
* Ensuring compliance with pension and statutory requirements, such as monthly pension returns and auto-enrolment.
* Processing monthly payroll, including reporting and ledger uploads.
* Reconciling month-end payments and returns to HMRC and pension providers.
* Coordinating with auditors and providing necessary information.
* Staying updated on relevant regulations and informing the team.
* Collaborating with other Operations teams to improve processes and service delivery.
* Working with the Payroll Manager to enhance payroll services and identify efficiencies.
* Acting as Deputy for the Payroll Manager when needed.
* Performing other relevant duties as assigned.
