We do not require any previous Trading Standards experience but do require applicants to undertake the Level 6 Trading Standards Professional Apprenticeship. We will provide on-the-job training delivered by our supportive and experienced team members. What will you be doing?
You will undertake the Level 6 Trading Standards Professional Apprenticeship and any additional qualifications required. Please see full details of the apprenticeship attached. You will develop the skills and knowledge to carry out the duties of a Trading Standards Officer.
Under supervision, you will gather and process intelligence, respond to complaints, and conduct investigations across the Trading Standards remit. You will undertake project work, inspect businesses, investigate non-compliance, and provide support and guidance to local businesses. About you
No previous Trading Standards experience is required. We seek individuals who are dedicated and committed to completing the Level 6 Apprenticeship, passionate about consumer protection, positive, calm under pressure, and effective communicators. Applicants need 5 GCSEs grade C/4 or above (or equivalent), including Maths and English, and two A Levels (or equivalent).
