Engineer (Construction)
Location: Exeter – Hybrid working
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £55,000–£70,000
Sphere solutions are working with a national housebuilder to recruit a Construction Engineer who will manage the design of infrastructure and groundwork packages for residential developments. Your main responsibilities will include and not be limited to:
Key Responsibilities
1. Arranging and managing service enquiries for new developments, ensuring timely payments for required utilities.
2. Overseeing designs produced by external consulting engineers, covering foundations, estate roads, sewers and Section 38, 104 and 278 works.
3. Securing and managing adoption agreements (S38, S104, S278), ensuring bonds are set up, reduced and closed on time.
4. Input into structural designs for superstructure elements.
5. Reviewing consultant designs to ensure value engineering, accuracy and compliance with regulations.
6. Working closely with the Technical Team and wider business to support the discharge of planning conditions and building regulations.
What We’re Looking For
7. Experience in a similar role with a housing developer.
8. Strong knowledge of estate road and sewer construction & inspection.
9. Understanding of Highway and Water Industry standards.
10. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
11. Construction related qualifications (Degree/HND/HNC) desirable.
