An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer to support the delivery of safe, reliable, and efficient cementing equipment installations on offshore rigs worldwide. Based primarily in Aberdeen, this role offers involvement in global projects, offshore operations, and close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will support the planning, removal, installation, and commissioning of offshore cementing equipment. The role involves project coordination, technical documentation, site surveying, and direct engagement with clients and installation teams. Occasional international and offshore travel will be required.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct or assist with rig surveys using manual measurement techniques and 3D laser scanning (training provided).
* Prepare technical reports, project schedules (Gantt charts), pre-planning documentation, and resource forecasts.
* Develop installation and commissioning procedures, including certification data books.
* Produce, coordinate, and review equipment layout drawings and P&IDs for installations on MODUs and offshore platforms.
* Act as a key technical and project support contact for installation coordinators and clients.
* Monitor project performance, tracking planned versus actual progress through daily installation reports.
* Assist in preparing Bills of Materials (BOMs).
* Perform basic engineering calculations and develop technical specifications.
* Assess equipment requirements, certification needs, and classification considerations.
* Liaise with rig owners, clients, and classification societies where required.
* Capture and document lessons learned throughout project execution.
* Support procurement, inspection, preparation, and mobilisation of equipment and materials.
* Provide guidance to technicians and designers to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
* Review and analyse commissioning and testing results.
* Apply sound project management principles to coordinate and deliver assigned tasks.
* Prepare cost estimates and monitor project expenditure.
Education & Experience
* Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
General Requirements
* Ability to obtain BOSIET/HUET and OGUK medical certification (training provided).
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable Experience
* Working knowledge of AutoCAD Mechanical.
* Experience in 3D modelling of equipment and piping using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar software, including the use of point cloud data.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Project.
