Job Description
My client, based in Hinckley, is a thriving business experiencing continued growth.
They are seeking a Finance professional to motivate and lead their finance team. This person should be capable of providing clear direction and guidance for a team with varied skill levels. A successful candidate will be able to delegate effectively and identify training gaps within the team.
This individual will be responsible for ensuring that the Accounts team follows best practices with a high standard of accuracy. Clear communication with the Directors and Chairman is vital and requires a confident individual.
Key responsibilities
1. Preparation of monthly management accounts including supporting reconciliations
2. Review control accounts reconciliations on a rolling basis to aid year-end accounting, including extracting and checking profit and loss analysis
3. Oversee bank reconciliations
4. Monitor the completion and production of sales and purchase ledgers, providing authorization
5. Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts, including supporting and assisting during the annual audit to ensure timely delivery
6. Authorize bank payments and overheads
7. Manage day-to-day cash flow
8. Manage the annual budget process
9. Submit monthly/quarterly returns to HMRC
10. Provide reports and updates to the management team
11. Conduct monthly 1-2-1 meetings and annual Performance Development Reviews to support team development and identify areas for improvement
12. Identify and report risks promptly to Senior Management
13. Negotiate company insurances
Requirements of the role
* AAT / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent qualification
* Knowledge of Access Dimensions is beneficial
* Experience in managing an accounts team or department
* Advanced skills in Excel and reporting
* Knowledge or experience with payroll
* Experience in daily, weekly, monthly, and annual accounting
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
