Group Reporting Accountant – Cheltenham – Newly Created Role – Financial Services
My client, a leading provider of outsourced services to the insurance industry, is seeking a Group Reporting Accountant to join its expanding team. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this senior role plays a pivotal part in delivering high‑quality financial reporting and maintaining robust processes and controls across Lloyd’s syndicates and insurance clients both internally and externally.
The Role
As a Group Reporting Accountant, you will provide a professional and accurate accounting service to clients, ensuring all deliverables are produced efficiently and in line with strict deadlines.
* Produce group consolidated management accounts and financial reports
* Prepare statutory accounts and GAAP‑compliant reporting
* Maintain and reconcile client ledgers
* Prepare and process journals, recharges, and payments
* Support regulatory returns and audit processes
* Monitor cash flow, balances, and outstanding items
* Ensure strong financial controls and documentation
* Collaborate with clients, auditors, and regulators
* Support team development, training, and process improvements
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings both technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills.
* Qualified accountant
* Experience in group reporting and financial consolidation
* Background in insurance finance / Lloyd’s environment desirable but not essential
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Confident communicator with senior stakeholder engagement experience
* Proven ability to manage competing deadlines
* Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP/accounting systems (Sage Intacct experience advantageous)
* A collaborative team player with a proactive mindset
