Team Leader – 35 hours per week (Rochdale) – Driver Essential
Alternative Futures Group is seeking a committed Team Leader to work 35 hours per week in Rochdale. This role is essential for drivers and requires a private vehicle for work related travel within our service areas.
About the Role
As a Team Leader you will lead and direct a team to develop and deliver person‑centred services, manage resources to meet service user and contract outcomes, and foster a culture of high quality practice.
Principal Accountabilities
* Follow the principles of person‑centred approaches in all areas of operation.
* Be responsible for assessment, planning, monitoring, and reviewing of individual support.
* Ensure appropriate information is captured, reported, and analysed.
* Lead and manage staff to achieve and maintain high performance and standards.
* Deploy staff resources efficiently and effectively.
* Develop and maintain a customer‑focused ethos and excellent working relationships with other professionals.
* Provide coaching, supervision and appraisal to support staff development.
* Organise and facilitate positive and productive team meetings.
* Promote good practice and ensure practice is aligned with company policy and legislation.
* Ensure service delivery meets required quality standards and promotes community connections.
* Manage internal and external reportable events appropriately.
* Assist the Area Manager with resource management.
Person Specification – Skills & Knowledge
* Ability to inspire and drive person‑centred principles and practices.
* Ability to assess, plan and monitor care to achieve individual outcomes.
* Ability to engage with service users, families and carers to build trust.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* In-depth knowledge of the needs of people with mental health or learning disabilities.
* Leadership and team management experience.
* Proficiency in using person‑centred tools.
* Application of policy and procedure to deliver quality outcomes.
* Initiative, self‑motivation and resourcefulness.
* Effective resource management and ICT skills for information, performance reporting and communication.
* Excellent time management and prioritisation of a complex workload.
Experience
* Significant experience of person‑centred planning and review.
* Experience supporting people with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
* Experience of people management and leading a staff team.
* Experience of staff supervision, appraisal and partnership working.
* Experience of managing resources within an agreed budget.
* Experience of using IT systems to manage service and people.
Qualifications & Training
* NVQ3 qualification in management or care (or equivalent) or willingness to complete such a qualification within a set time period.
* Training in person‑centred practices (planning, review, team development).
Other Requirements
* Willingness to work flexible hours, on call, and 7 days a week including unsocial hours and weekends.
