Job Description

Experian Consumer Services UK&I (ECS) is the consumer division of global data and fintech group Experian. We’re responsible for the direct-to-consumer credit business, helping consumers take control of their financial health and support their journey through life’s big moments. We’re constantly striving to innovate and make things better for our consumers – whether that’s helping them to improve their credit score, spotting personalised opportunities to save money, or working with our partners to secure the best possible credit card, loan, or re-mortgage deals.

Key Responsibilities:

Trading & Commercial Performance

1. Commercial ownership of critical KPIs including CPA, upsell, free acquisition, in-product leads and paid leads.
2. Lead forecasting and performance reporting across daily, monthly, and annual cycles.
3. Collaborate with finance and senior stakeholders to assess revenue impact and unlock growth opportunities.
4. Provide oversight on churn metrics and support retention strategies through performance insights.
5. Lead regular meetings with the team to deep-dive performance, unlock opportunities and understand the impact of strategic initiatives.

Growth Strategy & Acquisition

6. Define and execute the customer acquisition, upsell and marketplace lead strategy across web and app.
7. Drive new customer growth for free subscribers and marketplace through paid media, SEO, affiliates, and partner channels.
8. Lead initiatives to understand value by customer type and channel; combining CPA and lead quality to optimise messaging and targeting.
9. Champion the integration of AI and emerging technologies to enhance media efficiency and prepare for the evolving search landscape driven by LLMs.
10. Partner closely with Brand, CRM, and Product Marketing to align acquisition and engagement strategies across the customer lifecycle.

Performance Media & SEO

11. Oversee planning, execution, and optimisation of paid media campaigns (PPC, social, affiliates).
12. Manage day-to-day agency relationships and multi-million pound performance media budget, ensuring ROI and strategic alignment.
13. Lead the SEO and LLM growth strategy, driving organic visibility and traffic through best-in-class optimisation, content and technical practices and prepare for the impact of LLMs on search behaviour and visibility.

Site Ownership & Optimisation

14. Own the logged-out experience of Experian.co.uk, managing over 200 consumer pages.
15. Ensure the site delivers a best-in-class customer experience and supports product comprehension and engagement.
16. Lead quarterly optimisation roadmaps across web and app, supporting all logged in and non-logged in pages, to drive commercial outcomes.
17. Drive a multi-product, cross channel experimentation and optimisation strategy that delivers sustained significant revenue growth and measured feature releases.

Personalisation & Experimentation

18. Lead ECS’s personalisation strategy, embedding data-driven targeting across the ecosystem.
19. Evolve enablement in line with market best practice and embed solutions within Marketing teams; ensure predictive data attributes and machine learning models are used to deliver best-in-class personalised experiences across all customer touchpoints.
20. Drive experimentation across NPD, feature releases, and customer journeys.
21. Define toolsets and agile practices for testing, working closely with tech and product teams.

Team & Agency Leadership

22. Build and inspire a high-performing team across acquisition, SEO, affiliates, eCommerce, and optimisation.
23. Own strategic relationships with agencies and suppliers, ensuring value, effectiveness, and compliance.
24. Drive operational excellence, talent development, and innovation within the performance marketing function.
25. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement through test-and-learn approaches and exploration of new channels.

Planning & Governance

26. Lead quarterly planning cycles, setting clear objectives, priorities, and investment allocations.
27. Ensure all activity meets regulatory and internal compliance standards, including DPIAs, LIAs, and ROPAs.
28. Ensure all experimentation adheres to consent requirements and data governance standards.
29. Oversee business continuity and risk mitigation for Experian.co.uk.
30. Consultant and provide product support on new feature rollout releases & measurability.
31. NPD experimentation across net-new areas, as well as enhancing features.


Qualifications

What You Will Bring to the Role

32. Team leadership from ‘Heads of department’ to ‘Marketing executives’
33. Deep expertise in paid media and digital performance channels.
34. Extensive experience in optimisation, A/B testing, personalisation within website and app product experiences to drive commercial outcomes.
35. Data and tech savvy - highly analytical with commercial and trading accountability.
36. Skilled in managing agencies, suppliers, and media partners.
37. Strong budget ownership and spend optimisation experience.
38. Comfortable balancing multiple KPIs and strategic priorities.
39. Experienced in Agile methodologies and influencing product and design teams.
40. Proficient in web analytics and performance reporting.
41. Effective communicator of forecasts and results to senior stakeholders.
42. Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
43. Collaborative team player with strong cross-functional influence.
44. In-depth understanding of market trends, marketing technology, and commercial drivers.
