The Role

To work under the supervision of registered therapy staff to assist patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Undertake baseline assessments within clearly defined parameters for the identified service.

Implement, adapt and progress treatment programmes within agreed protocols and defined parameters.

Use specialist technical and practical skills to deliver flexible, patient centred programmes across a variety of clinical settings.

Discharge or transition care within agreed protocols and defined parameters.

Duties may vary depending on the care group / department or assigned area of work.

What we'll need you to bring

Qualifications and Experience

1. HNC in healthcare, education or social cares or SVQ III in healthcare, education or social care or equivalent experience in a health, education or social care environment.
2. Short specialist courses relevant to specific clinical area.

Knowledge and Skills

3. Awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area.
4. Knowledge of the therapeutic process, techniques and / or activities relevant to client group.
5. Basic assessment skills.
6. Ability to apply a range of technical and practical rehabilitation skills.
7. Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Time management, planning and organisational skills.
9. Working knowledge of basic information technology.
10. Ability to work individually, or as part of a team
11. Ability to learn and develop new skills and maintain a record of learning.

A driving licence is required, this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

It would be great if you also have

12. Breadth of experience of therapy or rehabilitation / re-ablement in a health, education or social care environment.
13. Awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area
14. Knowledge of the Therapeutic process, techniques and / or activities relevant to client group
15. Working knowledge of basic information technology

Contract type

Fixed Term (10 Months)

Full time

37 Hours

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

Please note this is a 10 months fixed term post. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in Dementia Post Diagnostic Support within Kirklands - NHSL Headquarters.

The working pattern for this role is Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm
