Vehicle Damage Assessor/Estimator required in Weston-super-Mare
1. Starting salary from £35-40,000 per annum plus bonuses available.
2. 40-hour week: 8:00am-5:00pm Monday to Friday with no weekends required.
Our client, an automotive accident repair centre located in Weston-super-Mare, is currently looking to recruit an experienced and professional Vehicle Damage Assessor/Estimator to join their business.
Reporting to the Bodyshop Manager and working alongside another Vehicle Damage Assessor/Estimator, your main purpose will be to carry out estimates as specified by the vehicle manufacturer, insurers and customers, ensuring that the vehicle repair is carried out efficiently and that by doing so, a satisfactory profit margin can be generated.
Responsibilities of this Vehicle Damage Assessor / Estimator role include:
3. To prepare manual and computerised estimates efficiently and ensure that they conform to the requirements laid down by the vehicle manufacturer, insurance company & customer so that customer care/satisfaction standards are always maintained.
4. To maintain a file of all estimates undertaken, making sure that all work that is not automatically authorised is identified. Ensure that any such work does not commence until authorisation is given, following up on any unauthorised estimates and reporting reasons.
5. Once authorisation has been gained, liaise with bodyshop personnel and make sure that they understand fully the work to be done as per the estimate. Alternatively, communicate with the bodyshop if, by agreement with the insurance company, the vehicle is deemed a “total loss”.
6. To be aware of and adhere to all Health & Safety regulations and policies applicable to your position and working environment.
To be eligible for this position, you will hold strong and successful experience in vehicle estimating and be Audatex trained/qualified. An Automotive Technical Accreditation (ATA) and any manufacturer-approved training would be advantageous, but are non-essential to our client, as they are willing to provide training for this. A UK driving license with minimal points is also essential.
