This is a key position that will suit someone looking for responsibility, challenge, and the chance to design and develop best-practice payroll processes for a growing business." Reporting to the Finance Director, this person will be responsible for, and assist with, the following: Full end-to-end processing of multi-site, multi-entity payrolls Ensuring all payrolls are completed accurately and on time Managing statutory reporting and ensuring compliance with legislation Completing reconciliations, payroll journals, and year-end requirements (P60s, P11Ds, etc.) Handling pension administration, auto-enrolment, and liaison with pension providers Ensuring all deductions are processed correctly and submitted within required timescales Maintaining payroll procedures and ensuring suitable cover is trained Working closely with Finance, HR, and Operations to resolve queries and optimise processes Assisting in the preparation of salary budgets and payroll-related reporting Supporting with audits and providing documentation when required Leading on payroll legislative updates, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives Producing detailed monthly payroll reporting and KPIs for senior management Carrying out additional duties as required in line with the needs of the business The above reflects typical responsibilities and is not intended to be an exhaustive list. Your skills & experience A relevant payroll qualification or currently working towards one Previous experience managing end-to-end payroll within a busy environment Strong reporting, data analysis, and Excel skills Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and emerging regulatory changes Experience implementing or improving payroll processes is highly desirable Knowledge of payroll software Experience with multi-site or multi-entity payrolls is an advantage For further information on this opportunity, or if you are considering the next step in your career, please contact Ollie Mairs at HireIQ in complete confidence.
