Job Title: National Head of Stock and Inventory

The Company
We're working with a UK based, market leading FMCG Business with a presence across multiple continents. The logistics NDC operation sits in Oxfordshire, and due to business growth are looking for a skilled National Head of Stock and Inventory who has a vast understanding of all things Stock / End-to-End supply chain.
This role is an on site position with the core DC's based in and around Oxfordshire.
The Role
* Establish strong relationships and partner with key stakeholders such as Warehouse, Purchasing, Planning, Commercial, Customers and Finance.
* Be directly responsible for management of the stock and inventories at the National Distribution Centre, Site in the North, all third-party storage, and manufacturing sites nationally.
* Ensure compliance with all related food safety, legal, quality, and associated requirements of customers, and statutory bodies.
* Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure practices, processes and systems are developed in line with business needs.
* Plan the utilisation of storage capacity within and outside the business to meet changing business needs.
* Deliver optimal layouts and storage patterns within the Warehouse to drive efficient use of space and timely access to stock when needed. Manage pick walk process and locations.
* Ensure accurate management of physical stocks and alignment with financial and planning systems.
* Expedite managements of returns and disposal of distressed stocks and the disposal process.
* Support demand planning activity to ensure adequate preparation for season.
* Support a culture of continuous improvement
* Comply with all statutory and other requirements related to Distribution operations; and operate in a manner to ensure a safe and secure working environment is maintained.
* Support the General Manager and management team to ensure growth and development of departmental members.
* Implement routine reporting of performance measures to ensure key expectations are understood and delivered.
* Manage capacity and storage efficiently to ensure service and efficiency levels are delivered within an agreed budget. Investigate losses and inaccuracies for comment.
* Identify gaps in capability and opportunities for learning and development
* Work with the wider business team and external suppliers to identify gaps in current systems and procedures; and implement improved management systems without unplanned disruption to day-to-day activities.
* Maintain stock accuracy and quality in line with business and authority demands.
* Actively engage in the identification and delivery of continuous improvement opportunities.
* Support the Company in its efforts to reduce its carbon footprint and actively participate in associated projects related to storage operation.
* Ensure absence, disciplinary and performance management is applied in a fair and reasonable fashion throughout the team.
The Candidate
The successful candidate for the National Head of Stock and Inventory Manager opportunity will have the following skills and experiences:
* Educated to a degree level or 10 years equivalent experience - Essential
* Ideally hold a professional logistics or supply chain qualification / membership of the relevant institution - Advantageous
* Food industry or FMCG experience in related roles - Essential
* Familiarity with problem-solving, lean thinking and lean manufacturing techniques - Essential
* Computer literacy in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint presentation skills - Essential
* Experience within the logistics distribution and supply chain world from either a 3PL or in-house (Retail, Manufacturing etc) perspective - Essential
* Be commutable to Oxfordshire - Essential.
