Global Veterinary Careers are proud to present a unique opportunity for a Senior Practice Director to join a successful and growing group of small animal practices across the West Midlands region. Based near Birmingham with hybrid flexibility, this role is ideal for someone with strong operational and leadership skills—particularly those with veterinary practice experience or a clinical background.
Location: Hybrid – based in the Birmingham area with regular practice visits Salary: £44,500 – £60,000 DOE Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (with some flexibility required)
About the Role: This is a fantastic step up for an experienced Practice Manager, Practice Director, or Veterinary Professional looking to take on broader leadership responsibilities. You will:
Support several sites across the West Midlands
Line-manage local Clinical and Practice Directors
Be a key part of strategic decision-making
Drive operational standards, team development, and commercial growth
Work closely with senior leadership including the Regional Director, Ops Manager, and Clinical Leads
You’ll need:
Strong leadership and communication skills
Confidence interpreting financial KPIs, budgets, and practice performance data
A proactive mindset and ability to identify and implement service improvements
An approachable and supportive leadership style
Ideal Background:
Existing Practice Manager or Practice Director in a veterinary setting
Clinical experience (RVN or Vet) is a strong advantage, though not essential
Previous multi-site or regional leadership would be beneficial
Commercial awareness and experience managing people, performance, and business metrics
Responsibilities Include:
Supporting and coaching local teams
Driving consistency across practices
Financial planning and KPI analysis
Rota debt, and insurance management improvements
Leading team wellbeing and engagement initiatives
Delivering key regional messages and supporting wider strategy
What’s on Offer:
