Water Regulations Inspector
Circa £38,488dependent on skills & experience
Permanent, full time (37 hours) with flexibility for part time
Norfolk / Suffolk– field based


Regulate, Inspect and Protect the water supply!

Our Water Services team clean water to the highest standard, deliver it to millions of homes, and carefully manage it to ensure it never runs out. We borrow water from the environment, storeitand treat it to world-class standards to supply safe drinking water to 4.3 million customers in towns and villages from Grimsby, in the north-east of our region, to Milton Keynes at the south-western tip.

As a Water RegulationsInspector,you’llco-ordinate, plan and undertake Water Regulation Inspections/Assessments on new and existing High risk domestic dwellings, commercial and industrial premises, and Anglian Water owned assets. These inspections/assessments are a crucial part of supporting the business in protecting water supplies, from waste, misuse, undue consumption, contamination, anderroneousmeasurement and to keeping the Anglian Water region’s public water supply safe. 

In thisimportant role,you’llbe face to face with customers andbe requiredto inspect and assess hot andcold waterplumbing system installations on all types of properties including; domestic properties, farms, schools, hospitals, and factories etc. for compliance relating to the Water Supply Regulations. Carrying out these inspections and assessmentsyou’llbe playing your part in protecting the public water supply.

Key responsibilities

1. Co-ordinate and deliver auditson Anglian Water’s approved plumbers and contractors within the Anglian Water region

2. Plan arisk-basedinspection programme for all industrialcommercial users basedonthe risk category and inspection frequency

3. Accuratelyrecord all inspection detailsincludingalternativewater systems andfire fightingsystems

4. Send advice letters and questionnairesto target premises, vet returns and categorisepremises by risk

5. Advise internal and externalcustomers on compliance with the water regulations

6. Carry out reactive inspectionsin responseto water quality issues

What does it take to be successful?

18. This isa great opportunityfor someone in a similar role or with experience of plumbing installations.

19. You will ideally hold a recognised plumbing qualification and a relevant Water Regulations knowledge qualification. This is notessential, butis preferred.

20. We are looking for you to have excellent communication skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines. This role will need a flexible individual as it could occasionally involve you working out of hours to meet business requirements.
