Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer

Wolverhampton

£Competitive Salary + benefits

An established industrial manufacturer is seeking an Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer to join its operations team at a highly automated production facility. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically skilled maintenance professional to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where reliability, safety and teamwork are critical to maintaining production performance.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary shift engineering team, you will play a key role in keeping production lines operating safely and efficiently. The role involves responding to equipment breakdowns, diagnosing electrical faults and restoring machinery to operation as quickly as possible in order to minimise disruption to production. You will also carry out planned preventative maintenance to improve reliability and reduce unplanned downtime across the site’s automated equipment. Accurate recording of maintenance activity and parts usage within a CMMS system will be an important part of the role, ensuring maintenance histories remain up to date. In addition, you will identify recurring issues, contribute to root cause analysis and support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance plant performance. Maintaining high standards of health, safety and housekeeping across the production environment will also be central to your responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will hold an NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent in an electrical discipline, or have completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship. You will bring strong hands-on electrical maintenance and fault-finding experience gained within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a shift team is essential, along with a proactive approach to problem solving. A good understanding of health and safety practices within manufacturing is important, and experience working with automated or high-volume production equipment would be advantageous.

This opportunity offers the chance to join a large and well-established manufacturing organisation with a strong commitment to operational excellence, employee development and long-term sustainability, working as part of a supportive engineering team within a modern automated facility.
