Overview
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will deliver key WTA (Warship Technical Authority) service elements across platform systems, including design change, technical assurance, material state and obsolescence management, specialist engineering support, and future support or transformation planning.
Responsibilities
* Providing mechanical engineering support across diverse platform systems, equipment, and critical marine services
* Delivering engineering input to multiple projects, including CSM platforms and international naval programmes
* Working with internal teams and external stakeholders to clarify and manage platform system requirements
* Maintaining systems design integrity across varied engineering contexts, classes, and programme deployments
* Supporting investigations, impact assessments and integration analyses to enable evidence-based technical decisions
* Ensuring safe, efficient implementation of design changes while maintaining configuration control and system integration
Qualifications
* Broad knowledge of complex platform systems across UK and international markets
* Good understanding of applicable industry standards and ability to operate within CSM, LCM, and other governance and assurance frameworks
* Ability to apply mechanical engineering knowledge quickly and confidently to a wide range of platform and projects across multiple platform systems, sub-systems and equipment
* Evidence of formal mechanical engineering qualifications
Additional Requirements
All applicants must achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles require higher levels of National Security Vetting, typically needing 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required. Roles may also be subject to export control restrictions based on nationality and place of birth.
