About The Role As a Rechargeable Repairs Officer within the Rents and Leaseholder Team at Nottingham City Council Housing Services, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of fair, effective and customer-focused income recovery services. Working with tenants and leaseholders, you will manage the recovery of rechargeable repair debts, using a range of proportionate and lawful approaches to secure payment while maintaining positive customer relationships. You will contact customers by telephone and in writing, clearly explaining their liability, payment options and the legal framework for debt recovery. The role involves responding to enquiries with empathy and professionalism, accurately updating computer records, and preparing performance data to support service improvement and business planning. Where required, you will represent the Council by giving evidence in Magistrates and County Courts. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across Housing Services and the wider Council, identifying process improvements and reporting concerns. What were looking for: The ideal candidate will have: 1. A general knowledge and awareness of housing and housing related issues with experience of working in a housing environment. 2. Evidence of working successfully in partnership across different sectors, building and maintaining good working relationships. 3.Able to develop and present written or verbal information in a clear and concise manner. 4.Ability to be creative, to be able to identify problems and work to create solutions. 5.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office word processing and spreadsheet software packages. 6.Experience of providing, collating and producing accurate work, for example correspondence, reports, numerical and statistical information using computerised packages.
