Job Title: Assistant Buyer
Client: Global engineering & manufacturing client
Location: Desford
Hourly Rate: £22.55ph PAYE or £29.56 Umbrella
Duration: 12 months
Working arrangements: Monday - Friday full-time onsite
About the Role
My large Engineering client is looking for a driven and meticulous procurement professional to join their dynamic team, supporting the Procurement and Specialty Products Category areas in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Solicit supplier quotations, analyse cost breakdowns, update pricing records, and manage supplier communications.
Ensure adherence to internal procurement procedures and industry best practices.
Lead and support resource projects, resolve procurement challenges, and address invoice-related discrepancies.
Coordinate supplier onboarding processes and foster strong, ongoing vendor relationships.
Key Skills:
3+ years procurement experience
SAP
Teamcenter
Data driven: Ability to collect, interpret, and act on procurement data to meet business goals.
Analytical Thinking: Skilled in identifying root causes and solving procurement-related challenges.
Project Management: Competent in managing and executing procurement-related projects from start to finish.
