ABOUT THE ROLE: The purpose of the ADR Operative is to ensure the efficient operation of Automatic Defect Removal equipment to company requirements and specifications. Key tasks of the role include, but are not limited to: Start up; check all ADR's Opti-sort and Radix settings including Peel Scanner. Alter programmes for machines for product specifications being run. At all times, with the need for constant visual alertness, carry out adjustments as required for efficient running Uses own discretion to program computers to give best efficient defect removal at all times according to product being run and make appropriate adjustments whilst ensuring appropriate recoveries Complete all necessary paperwork and procedures fully, accurately and without omissions, i.e. ADR performance check sheets, safe isolation, start up check sheets and cleaning records Carries out cube test and defects in/out test to determine the level of defects as required, carrying out any adjustments necessary to achieve greater efficiency. Input data into computer Strip and rebuild cutter wheels and manifolds, replacing broken or missing blades. Carry out 2 hourly checks on cutter wheels during normal running, record results in log Continuously monitor and maintain the condition and cleanliness of the ADR belts and equipment to ensure maximum performance and efficiency Ensure a full CIP and learn light is done at the start of every shift to maximise machine performance and efficiency Check all interlocks at the start of every shift, completing appropriate paperwork and report any faults immediately after making the equipment safe Makes sure the grading screens are at the correct sizing for the product being run. Assists the engineers with general maintenance tasks on and around the ADR's as well as carrying out any routine maintenance tasks as requested by their FLM Report any faults or malfunctions to the FLM or engineers Makes themselves conversant with any modifications, updates or new equipment installations relevant to them Carry out any reasonable additional duties as and when requested WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience of working in an FMCG environment, coupled with excellent time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure Reporting into the Area Shift Manager you'll also have Knowledge of continuous improvement and an eye for improving systems and processes Ability to recognise technical concepts, a problem solving mind-set and able to soak up new information quickly Experience of training and coaching colleagues to standards An excellent knowledge of Health & Safety requirements Experience of influencing others through confident communication Strong prioritisation skills, and be able to organise your own time The confidence to be accountable, taking ownership and driving your own initiative The ability to bounce back, be self-motivated even under tough circumstances Strong working relationships, and able to work with lots of different people and teams WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
