Job Title – Maintenance Engineer - (Days) | Location – Sudbury Factory | Shift Pattern – Monday to Thursday 8:00–16:30, Friday 8:00–16:00
Salary: Circa £47,372.00, plus a variety of company-wide benefits such as Target bonus scheme up to 5% of basic salary and a Competitive Pension.

Position Summary
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical & Electrical) to join our team based at our Nestlé Purina site in Sudbury. You will work within a strategic and fast-moving factory team, interacting with equipment from robots to production equipment. You will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and work as part of a team. This site offers the opportunity to join a global network while benefiting from the support and closeness of a smaller, knit team.

Sudbury is an historic market town in the Stour valley, surrounded by countryside, with good access to London via Colchester.

A day in the life of a Maintenance Engineer
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will support and participate in the implementation and execution of the factory asset maintenance programme aimed at eliminating unplanned stops, optimising maintenance cost, and increasing asset intensity. This role is responsible for a defined set of production and packaging assets in terms of the engineering strategy to drive your area to world-class performance levels in safety, quality, cost and service.
Other responsibilities will include:
* Maintain the basic condition of the machines by means of reactive, preventative and predictive maintenance activities.
* Support breakdowns and participate in line improvements across the factory, becoming the Subject Matter Expert for your selected area.
* Drive a safe culture and eliminate safety risks.
* Ensure all work is completed to a high engineering standard following GMP and safe systems of work at all times.
* Ensure compliance with the Nestlé quality policy, particularly engineering change management and line release.
* Record breakdowns, perform root cause analysis and take ownership of follow-up actions.
* Support Root Cause Analysis practices and projects.
* Support the Capability Build of both the Shift Technicians and the Apprentice Technicians, as well as supporting and developing the AM team following our TPM roadmap on site.
What will make you successful?
To be successful in this key role, we expect you to ideally have worked in a manufacturing maintenance environment and have a strong service orientation amongst internal stakeholders, with proactive initiative and a passion for continuous improvement.
Other experiences and attributes would include:
* You will be educated to apprenticeship level NVQ 3 in Engineering or equivalent; an Electrical bias would be advantageous (essential).
* Ideally a proven track record in an FMCG Food Environment (preferable).
* Proven track record in Planned and Preventative Maintenance (essential).
* Proven track record in problem-solving methodology (essential).
* Understanding of Lean manufacturing tools including TPM (preferable).
