Advanced Practitioner - Northamptonshire

Working Patterns: We have both permanent weekend roles and bank positions available at present.

Competitive salary: DHU Band 8b.0, £62,484 per annum (pro rata) with a 30% evening enhancement, and 45% weekend enhancement.

Job responsibilities

What your typical day looks like:

* Provide autonomous, advanced clinical care
* Assess, diagnose, treat, and refer patients effectively
* Conduct and interpret relevant diagnostic investigations
* Maintain high-quality clinical records
* Work as part of a team and collaborate with other staff within DHU

To be a successful Advanced Practitioner you'll need:

* Registered and practicing with a Professional Body
* Registered as a non-medical prescriber, practicing post-qualification for at least 6 months
* Have completed a minimum of two Level 7 modules, including Minor Illness OR Major Illness
* Experience working in Primary Care or Urgent Care
* Autonomous practice in multi-professional teams

* Ability to complete concise clinical histories and physical examinations
* Ability to formulate differential diagnoses and management plans
* Willingness to participate in service development
* Awareness of accountability in clinical practice
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
* Negotiation skills and critical thinking
* Ability to identify individual client needs
* Time management and prioritization skills
* Commitment to lifelong learning
* Excellent counselling and communication skills
* Knowledge of current structures and developments in out-of-hours, health, and social care
* Specialist clinical/technical skills as required
* Flexibility to work unsocial hours, including bank holidays
* Willingness to travel between primary care sites when on duty
* Full driving license (essential for LLR Home Visiting Service)
* Proven team player and autonomous worker
* Committed to continuing professional development
* High interpersonal skills
* Willingness to pursue additional training to achieve a full MSc in advanced clinical practice
* Additional skills such as ALS/PALS, cannulation, ECG interpretation, plastering, suturing, IRMER & X-ray interpretation, pathology interpretation, telephone triage, as required by specific sites


Experience

* Substantial autonomous practice working within a multi-professional team
* Evidence of autonomous physical examinations and assessments
* Broad knowledge of complex and common conditions in primary care for adults and children
* Experience in nurse-led clinics, emergency care centres, out-of-hours facilities, or walk-in centres
* Consolidated independent prescribing experience
* Experience in telephone triage and emergency care
* Experience in general practice


Qualifications

* Registered Adult Nurse (NMC), Paramedic (HCPC), or Pharmacist (GPhC)
* Registered as an independent non-medical prescriber
* Minimum of two Level 7 modules, preferably in minor illness & minor injury
* Educated to MSc level or equivalent in advanced practice

This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. A submission for Disclosure will be required to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Salary range: £62,484 to £72,865 per year, with a 30% evening enhancement and 45% weekend enhancement.
