Position Overview:
Working within Finning’s industry-leading field service department, you will be part of the in-frame team working across various sectors at the forefront of the company's on-site diagnostic and repair capabilities for Caterpillar products, including CAT engines, generators, and components.
Locations - Leeds, Cannock, Cardiff, Glasgow
Job Description:
As a Finning Engineer, you will receive:
* Salary £38,500 - £43,800

Main Job Functions:
* Respond to customer field repair and service requests, diagnose issues, and communicate findings clearly to customers and Finning to generate quotes efficiently.
* Provide estimated arrival times based on job instructions and customer details.
* Coordinate with customer site management to register your arrival and adhere to site procedures.
* Diagnose equipment problems using specialized tools, discuss findings with operators/supervisors, and prepare detailed reports for quotes.
* Identify required parts, requisition them, and coordinate delivery to schedule service visits.
* Perform repairs and servicing on Caterpillar engines and generators.
Education and Experience:
* LDV driving license.
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent training and experience as a service engineer.
* Experience with gas and diesel engines, generators (LV and HV).
Knowledge:
* Proficiency with diagnosis tools and equipment.
* Experience in engine assembly/disassembly.
* Knowledge of Caterpillar engines (3400, 3500, 3600 series), MWM, MAK.
