The Cernavoda 1 Logistics Manager Romania will oversee local logistics operations for the Candu Cernavoda 1 EP/EPC Nuclear projects. Responsibilities include managing import clearance, in-country transportation, and delivery of project materials and equipment, including general cargo, dangerous goods (Class 7), heavy lift items, and over-dimensioned cargo, ensuring compliance with EU/Romanian customs regulations, and coordinating with the Project Logistics Home Office in Canada. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in nuclear/industrial project logistics, excellent communication skills, and fluency in Romanian and English.
Your role within the team:
1. Primary Contact: Serve as the main point of contact at project Site/Romania locations for freight forwarding, customs brokerage, and transportation services, liaising with designated providers, Romania/EU organizations, and representatives.
2. Customs and Transportation: Oversee all import customs clearance and transportation operations, ensuring compliance with EU and Romanian regulations.
3. Cargo Management: Manage inbound international and domestic cargo shipments to the project site, including inland movements and shipping schedules, confirming transportation routes and delivery timelines with site material management and receiving teams.
4. Dangerous Goods: Supervise and coordinate the transportation of radioactive material (DG Class 7) into Romania via inland trucking from European ports, ensuring all permits and licenses are obtained.
5. Coordination: Maintain communication with site project management and stakeholders, coordinating with the Project Logistics Home Office in Canada.
6. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to logistics, customs clearance, cargo delivery delays, and external traffic safety concerns.
7. Record Keeping: Keep detailed records of logistics operations in Romania and prepare regular reports on activities, status, and timelines.
8. Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with material management, procurement, and construction management teams at the site.

The ideal candidate:
* Educational Background: Degree in Logistics or Materials Management, or equivalent experience totaling at least 10 years in project logistics, transportation, or traffic management roles.
* Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., CITT CCLP, PMP, CSCMP) are advantageous.
* Experience: Minimum of ten years in logistics management, import/export, and warehouse operations.
* Project Logistics Experience: Proven experience in project logistics, shipping, and transportation, with knowledge of Romanian/EU regulations and customs procedures.
* Integrity and Character: Strong ethics and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
* Coordination Abilities: Skilled in managing complex logistics operations.
* Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of regulations for importing and transporting dangerous goods (Class 7) within the EU.
* Reporting: Capable of preparing performance and project status reports.
* Construction Project Experience: Experience working on large-scale construction sites is a plus.
* International Trade Knowledge: Solid understanding of international trade practices.
* Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication in English; Romanian is a plus.
* Cultural Sensitivity: Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments.
