Job Summary
The Assistant Finance Manager supports the Senior Financial Accountants in balance‑sheet, patient monies and capital reporting, as well as subsidiary reporting for the Trust’s Charitable Fund and Flourish Community Interest Company. The role includes line management responsibilities for staff, to be reviewed periodically.
Main Duties
* Financial reporting for the Trust’s subsidiaries – the Charitable Fund and Flourish Community Interest Company.
* Capital reporting.
* Patients’ monies transaction management.
* Control account reconciliation.
* Line management of subordinate staff for the cashiers function, cash books, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
* Any other duties commensurate with the position in supporting the Senior Financial Accountants.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* 5 GCSEs, including Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalents) plus 2 A levels (or equivalents).
* AAT Advanced/NVQ Level 4 Accountancy or equivalent experience.
Experience
* Appropriate demonstrable recent and relevant experience.
* Experience of performing nominal ledger reconciliations.
* Experience of working in an NHS environment (desirable).
* Experience of charitable funds (desirable).
* Experience of managing staff (desirable).
* Experience of patient finance (desirable).
Knowledge
* Knowledge of financial and accounting procedures relating to NHS legislation.
* Ability to apply judgement to develop solutions to complex problems where there are conflicting priorities and no precedent (essential).
* Knowledge of Charities Commission regulations and guidance (desirable).
* Knowledge of Department of Work & Pensions benefits (desirable).
Skills / Abilities
* Highly competent in the use of email, internet and Excel.
* Use of financial systems.
* Good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
* Use of Centros/Integra financial systems (desirable).
