Senior Staff Nurse – Radiology/Imaging

London :The post holder will be expected to rotate across The Harley Street Campus, and The Princess Grace Hospital.

Full time: 37.5 hours per week + rotational on call.

Shifts: (Shifts vary between Monday-Friday from 8:00-20:00, with additional weekday and weekend on call).

We’re looking for a Senior Staff Nurse in Imaging/Interventional Radiology (IR) to join The Harley Street Clinic and the Princess Grace Hospital, currently rated as “Outstanding” and “Good” by the CQC.

As a Senior Staff Nurse within the imaging department you will report to the Duty Clinical Lead Nurse/Manager and will provide a customer focused and high-quality nursing service to our patients and service users.

The role will require rotation throughout all the imaging modalities (IR, CT, MRI and Core Services) and throughout all the imaging sites, although the primary base will be the Harley Street Clinic.

You will also need to be flexible to travel to other sites.

The post holder will also support the Radiologist and Radiographers in the management of the clinical areas, including assessment of care needs, the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs of care.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Provide a professional standard of excellence in nursing service for all patients.
2. Competent in all areas of imaging Nursing, including assisting with one stop breast clinic, imaging guided drainages, biopsies, Interventional Radiology cases and therapeutic procedures.
3. Share clinical knowledge with multi-disciplinary colleagues both formally through CPD sessions/ clinical competency forms and informally adhoc teaching /training opportunities.
4. Participates in regular mandatory training relating to safeguarding vulnerable adults and children, ensuring compliance in escalation of any safeguarding concerns.
5. Assist Reservations/IR Co-ordinator and Radiographers in the booking of immediate appointments.
6. Form an effective working relationship with Consultants, Radiographers and administrative staff/medical secretaries within the Department and the wider hospital.

What you’ll bring:

7. Hold a BSc (or equivalent) in Nursing and hold a current UK NMC registration meeting PREP requirement.
8. Experience in Imaging/Interventional Radiology (IR) is essential
9. Demonstrate commitment to Imaging nursing through CPD/protocol development within a radiology area.
10. Have a portfolio of relevant CPD
11. Post Graduate qualification within imaging or another relevant area
12. Able to use own initiative and ability to work as part of the team.
13. Ability to work flexible hours to meet the service requirements and will be required to work on call to cover the emergency service.
14. Ability to work under pressure and reliable.
15. Strong organisational skills working across many modalities
