Job Title: English Teacher
Location: Withernsea, East Riding of Yorkshire
Contract: Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026 or sooner
Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 per annum

GSL Education are looking for a qualified English Teacher to undertake short and long-term placements at schools in the east riding of Yorkshire.

About the Role:

As an English Teacher, you will deliver engaging and challenging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a positive attitude towards English Language and Literature. You will create an inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to develop their analytical, creative, and communication skills while achieving their full potential.

This is a long-term position, making it an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and ambitious educators looking to establish themselves within a supportive secondary school environment.

Key Responsibilities of the English Teacher:

• Plan and deliver high-quality English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Create engaging learning experiences that inspire a passion for reading and writing
• Differentiate learning activities to support students of varying abilities and needs
• Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback
• Prepare learners for internal assessments and external examinations
• Promote critical thinking, discussion, and independent learning
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support learner achievement and curriculum development

As the Ideal English Teacher, You Should Have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification
• Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting
• Strong subject knowledge of English Language and Literature
• Ability to inspire and motivate learners of varying abilities
• Excellent classroom management and organisational abilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning
• A proactive and collaborative approach to education

To Work with GSL Education, You Must:

• Have the right to work in the UK
• Provide an up-to-date CV with relevant reference information covering the last 2 years
• Have recent experience teaching within an educational setting
• Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
