The role will partner the Operations / Engineering and other support function teams to deliver a cost effective and efficient manufacturing and project output. They will assist in the financial control of inventory, operational metrics and margins.
* Provide robust systems for the accounting for Inventory including the co-ordination of inventory counts and variance analysis and resolution to ensure accurate financial reporting.
* Analyse manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard to actual costs to measure business efficiency through variance analysis.
* Support the audit process. Support and coordinate all internal and external audit activity relating to inventory and direct manufacturing costs.
* Assist with period end close processes providing detailed reconciliation schedules to support in the production of timely, accurate Management Accounts.
* Measure, evaluate and report on the company’s financial activities and operational efficiencies, produce regular and ad-hoc reports to Senior Management.
* Identify, support and promote continuous improvement activities
* Support the Research and Development Project teams with the implementation of new products, providing direction and assistance to ensure accurate creation and maintenance of Item Master parameters and Bill of Materials.
* Collecting and analysing data such as raw material purchases, inventory and labour to determine costs of business activity
* Analysing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on product cost.
* Manage and report all aspects relating to Fixed Assets, including purchase, disposal and Depreciation accounting for audit and regular reporting as required.
* Manage and report all aspects of customer shipments through to invoicing and liaison with Operations team to deal with customer queries
* To provide support and assist with all aspects of the Finance department’s functions and other essential company duties, as directed
Education/Qualifications
* A good general standard of education
* Part Qualified / Newly Qualified Accountant
Behaviours/Skills/Experience
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Finance role
* Excellent user of Microsoft Office Suite
* Cost accounting background
* Excellent analytical skills
* Good inter-personal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation
