Progression & Employability Tutor
Location: Wirral
Start Date: Immediately
Hours: Full Time
Contract: Temporary (initially until the end of the academic year, reviewed monthly)
About the Role
Reed Further Education is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Progression & Employability Tutor, delivering high-quality teaching and support to learners aged 16–19. The role involves planning and delivering structured learning programmes that help young people develop the skills, behaviours, and confidence required for employment, further education, or apprenticeships.
If you can also deliver GCSE Maths and English, this would be a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons focused on employability, personal development, and progression skills
* Support learners in developing CVs, interview skills, digital literacy, and workplace behaviours
* Provide pastoral support to ensure learners remain motivated and engaged
* Track learner progress and maintain accurate records in line with departmental and funding requirements
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to support learner achievement and progression
* Ensure teaching and learning materials meet the needs of a diverse range of learners
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
* UK Recognised Teaching Qualification
* Experience delivering employability, functional skills, or personal development programmes to young people
* Strong classroom management and the ability to motivate and inspire learners
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A learner-centred approach with a commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
* Experience in Pupil Referral Units, Alternative Provision etc is highly desirable
All candidates who register with Reed Further Education will have 2 years’ referencing taken up and will be required to have a DBS check completed. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks.
Reed Further Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment by completing mandatory training within 6 weeks of your first assignment and annually thereafter.
