We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive secondary school in Bury. This is a high-impact role designed for someone who can offer both firm boundaries and genuine empathy to students who find the traditional classroom environment challenging. You will be a key figure in the school’s Pastoral Support Unit, working to reduce exclusions and foster a culture of emotional intelligence. The Snapshot Location: Bury (Excellent links via the Metrolink and M66) Salary: £24,500 – £28,000 (Pro-rata, dependent on experience) Contract: Full-time, Term-time only Start Date: As soon as possible Detailed Responsibilities Targeted Interventions: Managing a caseload of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, providing 1:1 sessions focused on anger management, conflict resolution, and self-regulation. Classroom Support: Working alongside teachers to identify "trigger" moments for specific students and implementing immediate de-escalation strategies to keep them engaged in learning. Restorative Practice: Leading restorative justice meetings between students to resolve bullying or social conflicts, ensuring long-term behavioural change rather than just short-term compliance. Progress Tracking: Maintaining detailed records of student behaviour and emotional well-being, providing the Senior Leadership Team with evidence for further specialist support where necessary.
