Job overview

Operational support to ensure the safe, effective, and compliant management of medical devices across the organisation.

The post holder will achieve this by providing effective customer service and administrative support to the team. This will involve dealing with general queries from colleagues either by email or over the phone and overseeing administrative systems and processes.

The post holder will provide general coordination of the service/department to ensure the smooth running of the service. This includes maintaining confidentiality, supporting colleagues and managing the work of others.

Main duties of the job

1. Strong organisational and data management skills. Knowledge of medical device regulations and NHS policies. Ability to communicate effectively with clinical and non-clinical staff. Proficiency in IT systems for asset management and reporting. Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.

High Cost Area Supplement - Fringe
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of
5% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £1,303 and a
maximum payment of £2,198 per annum, pro rata for part time).

As part of the Trust’s objective to redeploy as many staff as possible, this role is restricted to existing internal administration staff that have contracted hours for the Trust only. If you are a current bank/agency worker that feels you have met the legal criteria to be eligible to apply for the role or are not a current administrative member of staff but seeking redeployment for other purposes, please clarify this in your application form so that this can be considered.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

2. Maintain accurate records of medical devices, including procurement, servicing, and disposal.
3. Support compliance with MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency) and local governance requirements.
4. Coordinate device maintenance schedules and liaise with clinical engineering teams.
5. Assist with audits, incident reporting, and risk assessments related to medical equipment.
6. Provide training and guidance to staff on device tracking systems and administrative processes.
7. Act as a point of contact between clinical teams, suppliers, and estates/engineering departments.

Although we are a registered sponsor organisation, we are unable
to offer sponsorship for all job roles. Please check your eligibility
under the UKVI points-based system. When calculating the basic
salary for sponsorship, HCAS (High-Cost Area Supplement) is not
included to ensure fairness and consistency within our Trust.
